BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

MORNING DEVOTIONAL - Be still

Life can feel busy, uncertain, and overwhelming. We often look for answers by trying to do more, fix more, or figure everything out on our own. But sometimes, God simply calls us to be still and trust Him.

Being still does not mean doing nothing. It means choosing to pause, quiet our hearts, and remember who God is. He is faithful when we cannot see what is ahead, and He remains present even when we feel uncertain.

When we take time to pray, read His Word, and listen for His direction, we create space to remember that our hope is not found in our circumstances. Our hope is found in Him.

Take a Moment Today

Set aside a few minutes today to step away from the noise and spend time with God. Bring Him your worries, questions, and plans. Trust Him with what you cannot control and allow His peace to guide your heart.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to today to slow down and trust You. When life feels uncertain, remind me that You are always with me. Teach me to be still, listen for Your voice, and place my confidence in You. Amen.

EVENING SCRIPTURE TEACHING - Jesus Calms The Storm

Picture this in your mind. After you read this, spend time meditating on it.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you further and deeper revelation in Jesus name.

Jesus had been teaching the crowds near the Sea of Galilee. He told His disciples to cross over to the other side in a boat.  The Sea of Galilee was well known... and still is, for sudden and violent storms called squalls.  It swept across the lake.  The waves beat heavily against the boat. Can you image the water that was coming into the boat and the rocking of the boat, not to mention all the effort by the disciples trying to ensure that the boat stayed upright. A sudden chaos was happening, yet Jesus was in the back of the boat sound asleep.  His head lay peacefully on a cushion.  He'd had a big day and was having a rest, He was at complete peace.

The disciples panicked.  Have you ever had that feeling of fear and rather than trust Jesus, you've gone into a sudden panic? You've run off to whoever you thought could help you? Well the disciples did that day.  They were terrified that they were about to die. They had Jesus right there...so they woke Him.  "Jesus, Jesus, don't you care that we are about to die"?  "LORD save us". Jesus got up.  He spoke directly to the wind itself and said, "peace, be still".  There was instant calm.  Because the wind and the waves still know His name, and they obeyed immediately.  Did you know, that because He lives in you, and He has given you authority to use His name...you can calm any kind of storm as well, in His name.

Faith or fear?  Which one will you choose when the storms of life rage all around you.  Will you take authority in His name and rest in Him no matter what the storm is doing? Or will you panic and fall into fear?  Faith is so pleasing to God, it is good to train our soul to stand in faith. The disciples asked each other, " what kind of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him"?  A very special kind indeed.  And one that is so loving that He gave His name to us to do the same things. He actually said, we would even do more than He did while He was here on earth. I have calmed storms in Jesus name. You just have to do as Jesus did, and do it in His name. And because of the mighty name of Jesus....the wind and storms of life will obey and cease.  Today, find a situation, where you can use the authority of His name that He gave you, and calm the storm.  It might be just a basic frustration, but you have the authority to use His name, so use it dear friend, use it.

Matthew 8:23-27 New International Version

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Prayer

I am going to pray for you.  I want you to be still and just receive.  The LORD is about to calm your storm.

Today Father, I ask for a calm over the situation in the readers life.  Father, I say to the storms in their lives, that rage intensely, to be still in Jesus name. I call fourth the peace of The Prince of Peace, the peace that passes all understanding to rest on their soul right now in Jesus mighty name, and for them to be delivered of this situation in Jesus name.  I pray Holy Spirit that you reveal the awe and might of God to cease this storm, and that they praise and worship you and give you Yahweh, all the glory.  In Jesus mighty name, amen.
